Frequently asked questions
Why a PDF viewer appears anonymous
The quick answer
A generic or forwarded share link does not reliably prove a viewer's identity. Treat unknown identity as unknown and use recipient-specific or stronger authenticated access where the workflow and risk require it.

Share a tracked document
Upload your file
Open Files & documents and upload a supported file. Use document sharing when you need a controlled viewer rather than a raw email attachment.
Set the access policy
Choose the available expiry, view, download, and watermark options for the issued link. Review the intended audience before sharing.
Share the issued link
Insert the document link into the email or use the compose document action where available. Send a recipient-specific link when the workflow supports it.
Review the document report
Use Document analytics for views, page activity, and available viewer evidence. Unknown identity should remain unknown.
