Frequently asked questions
What is a soft bounce?
The quick answer
A soft bounce is a temporary delivery failure such as a provider limit or temporary destination problem. Read the provider result and recovery condition; it differs from a permanent address rejection or an unsubscribe.
Review bounces and suppression
Open recipient-level status
Find the campaign and affected recipient. Read the provider error to distinguish a temporary failure from a permanent rejection.
Keep permanent failures excluded
Do not repeatedly resend to hard-bounced, unsubscribed, or suppressed contacts.
Repair the audience
Remove invalid or stale addresses, review the source and consent, and verify your sender authentication and recent sending pattern.
Retry only eligible work
For temporary errors, wait for the provider's indicated recovery condition and use the permitted retry path. Request support review if the account remains blocked.
