Email tracking for Outlook, Hotmail, and Microsoft 365
Track Outlook email opens and link clicks from the web inbox you already use. Elite Email Tracker adds engagement timelines, notifications, follow-up candidates, personal analytics, and signal classification for likely-human, privacy-protected, and scanner activity.

Built for honest signals
No certainty theater
Outlook web tracking
Track supported sends from Outlook.com, Hotmail, Microsoft 365, and Outlook on the web.
Open and click timeline
Review repeated open signals, tracked link clicks, timestamps, confidence, and available client or network context.
Scanner-aware classification
Microsoft privacy infrastructure and security-scanner traffic remain separate from likely-human activity.
Optional Office add-in
Organizations can deploy the signed Outlook add-in for Outlook on Windows, Mac, and the web through Microsoft 365 Integrated Apps.
How to track email in Outlook
- 01
Choose the integration
Use the browser extension for Outlook on the web, or have an administrator deploy the optional Outlook Office add-in.
- 02
Connect your account
Authorize the browser installation or connect once from the add-in, then compose from your normal Outlook account.
- 03
Track and review
The extension tracks supported web sends automatically. In desktop Outlook, choose Track this message. If both are present on Outlook on the web, they share one tracking record.
The optional Office add-in is a separately deployed integration. Browser-extension tracking and add-in tracking use different compose workflows.
What Outlook tracking can—and cannot—tell you
Outlook and Microsoft 365 environments may proxy external images or inspect links through security infrastructure. Those requests can arrive before a person reads the message or can describe Microsoft or enterprise infrastructure instead of the recipient.
A pixel request is an engagement signal, not proof of human attention. Elite Email Tracker preserves likely-human, privacy-protected, scanner, sender/self, and unknown classifications so ambiguous activity does not masquerade as certainty.
Standard tracking does not upload message bodies. If you deliberately use Outreach, the service stores the templates, campaign content, and files needed to send it. Review the privacy policy for the exact fields processed.
Outlook email tracking FAQ
Can I track email opens in Outlook?
Yes. Elite Email Tracker supports Outlook.com, Hotmail, Microsoft 365, and Outlook on the web through its browser extension. An optional Office add-in supports organizational deployment for Outlook on Windows, Mac, and the web.
Is Elite Email Tracker the same as an Outlook read receipt?
No. A traditional Outlook read receipt asks the recipient's mail system or user to return a receipt. Elite Email Tracker instead records remote-image and tracked-link requests, so it can work across providers but must account for blocked images, proxies, and scanners.
Does Outlook tracking show the recipient's exact location?
Not reliably. Pro can show an approximate location when network data is available, but Microsoft proxies, enterprise gateways, VPNs, forwarding, and mobile networks can hide or change the apparent source. The product labels unavailable or ambiguous fields.
Will the Outlook add-in stop an email if tracking is unavailable?
No. The optional Outlook add-in is designed not to block the send when reconciliation is unavailable. The browser extension verifies its marker and asks before an untracked send when registration or verification fails.
