Video messages

Record screen, camera, and microphone video; place the camera bubble; add accessible text; and share a tracked link.

Video messages let you record a personal walkthrough and share it through a tracked, revocable web link.

Record a video

  1. Open Video messages and start a recording.
  2. Grant browser screen, camera, and/or microphone permission as requested.
  3. Choose the camera and microphone device, or use system defaults.
  4. If using a camera bubble, place it at bottom right, bottom left, top right, or top left.
  5. Record, stop, and review the result.
  6. Give the recording a clear title and optionally add a transcript/captions.
  7. Save and copy the tracked link for your email.

The browser only exposes devices and screens allowed by operating-system and browser permissions. A browser policy can block capture even when Elite settings are correct.

Add a transcript or captions whenever practical. The text helps recipients who cannot play audio, improves accessibility, and makes content searchable. Do not rely on spoken content alone for critical terms or instructions.

Tracking

The shared route can record viewer sessions and video-compatible byte ranges. A range request proves that content bytes were requested, not that the entire video was watched attentively. Forwarded links can create additional sessions; revoke the issued link when access should end.

Limitations

  • Screen/camera recording works best in a modern desktop browser.
  • Mobile browsers, private windows, managed devices, and OS privacy controls may limit capture.
  • Large or long recordings take more time and bandwidth to upload and play.
  • The recipient can screen-record or download content permitted by their environment; revocation cannot recover copied media.
  • Use concise videos and include the call to action in the email text as well.
